楼主为正解,鄙人翻了一下书,章振邦《新编英语语法教程》上举了两个例子说明of词组和双重属格的用法区别,其中之一为：
他们有时可以交替使用,但意义略有区别.如

He is a friend of my father.（相当于He is friendly to my father.)
