口语中这样说并无不可,正式书面语最好这样说：He advised me to live in the place where the air is fresher.

这句话是错误的
因为where == in which
而句子中本来就带有介词in ,那又用where就错了，多此一举

live in 后面就不能再有从句了 ，要直接加地点。。。

要从where引导的从句和主句的关系上来看，where引导从句是主句的状语从句，描述生活的地方是什么样的地方，不单单就盯着in来看，而要从句子主谓宾来分析。为什么受字数限制啊，打不了字了

应该把in 去掉就对了，where是关系副词，在从句中相当于in the place where,也就是状语从句。

He advised me to live in a place where the air is fresher.

应去掉in,看句子成分where the air is fresher在句中为状语成分(可以按in some place来理解,对where引导的从句(状语,可理解为副词)有特殊性应该与which(引导句子后可理解为名词)in后不能接状语,故去掉in
