The proof of the pudding is in the eating.
It’s clear that if we want to know whether the pudding is delicious or not, we need to taste it ourselves. Everyone else’s opinion is not true for us, and that may mislead us to a wrong understanding of the world. Let’s analyze further in the following two detailed ways.
First, everyone has different value, perception and interests about the world. For the same thing, different people have different views. One may like cold weather while the other may not; one may value friendship while the other may not; one regards punctuality as being well-disciplined while the other may think that’s too rigid and inflexible. So to get an objective knowledge of something, we need to do something by ourselves, not just judge it by opinions of others.
Second, an old saying goes like “Experience is the best teacher”. This is just to tell us that the more we experience something by ourselves, the wiser we are to adapt to the world. By contrary, if we keep away from doing something ourselves, but just evaluate it through the knowledge of others, we would become disabled to do everything, and make it more clearly, we would be far away behind the pace of the world. If so, it’s even more difficult for us to judge and have a correct and objective perception of the world around us.
So, just be happy to do something ourselves, and experience it. Then, we will have a correct knowledge about everything around us.
