这完全是两个意思
举例说明下：
i hope not（我希望他们不会）是客观的表示（事实的结果与‘我的’希望不一定一致,只是表达自己的此事的看法）
i dont hope so（我不希望他们是这样）是主观的表示（强调自己主观上的不愿）
所以当这件事和自己有关时,通常用的是i dont hope so
而事件与自己无关,则用i hope not
