①译为 “怎么了”时,what作主语,同“What's wrong”
②译为“这东西是什么”时,what作宾语,与“What is this animal”一样,也就是 the matter is what
第二个句子中,
what作宾语,也就是this animal is what
比如who are you就是you are who

第一个what 作主语
第二个what 作宾语（可以这样理this animal is what? 即倒着过来念）
