看了一下,总的来说对于分数教育下的高三学生来说,有些还是偏难的.
个人初步判断楼主的语法和词法已经足够了,本来句子明白在说什么就可以了,可是悲催的考卷制度,让学生把大部分时间都花在钻牛角尖了,它说1＋4＝2+3,你要说＝5,都不给你分.
ps：虽说语法高中就基本学完了,但是要明白老外在说什么,还有很长的路要走.如果想真正学明白,多读是必须的,读自己能读懂的简单读物.做题除了能提高考分,用处不大.

what was left 是指这个地方因为没注意到或没时间,所以之前没有在这里进行过搜救,因此被left了.,用what was left替代具体位置,是因为这不是重点,没必要花语句进行描述,免去了干扰重点的产生.
3 最后他在貌似是仆人客房的房间里找到了两罐水果罐头.
what seemed（ to him） to be 这样你是不是就明白了呢,这是常见形式,to him 就是说更强调他觉得像个保姆室,暗含别人可能看成一般客房呢.就是说确定性更弱一点.
你要非问是啥成分,那它是不定式做表语.
