答:一个动词有两个由that引导的宾语从句用and并列,第一个可以省略,第二个不能省略,原因是怕引导误会.
比如某人说了两句话.Sb.said (that) he did A and that he did B.
第一个that省略没有关系,我们知道是sb.said的内容.后面有个that,则知道他说了两件事情.
第二个that如果省略了:
Sb.said (that) he did A and he did B.这句话中的and可以理解为并列两个句子,句子一是个复合句:sb.said he did A,句子二是he did B.
我们以为他说了什么事情之后又做了另一件事情.
这就是第二个that不能省略的原因,我猜.一般语法书只讲规则,并不会回答你这个为什么的问题.
记住:凡是省略,则一定可以还原!说多了的话,不想重复,能省则省.谁都知道省了什么.
不能省略,则一定有这个必要,或是怕引起歧义,或是怕句意不明.
我觉得应该是有the了,就不能再特指了
