Dadun Primary School is on one side of a big river. More than 4 students at the school live on the other side of the river. The river is about 20 meters wide. Students must cross the river when they go to school every day. In order to get the students across the big river safely, the two teachers carry them. Many students can’t go to school because the river doesn’t have a bridge. However, with the help of the teachers many students can restart their schooling.
In the second half of ach year, it rains a lot. The river will rise about seven meters. So during this time of the year the two teachers have to often carry the students. They carry the students across the river on their backs. Wang Wenzhou says they have used lots of ways to help students get across the river, for example, by tire.
The first class of Dadun Primary School begins at 7:30 in the morning. So every day the two teachers wait on the bank of the river at 7:00. They say some parents may have no time to take their children to school and thy have to help those students.
Many teachers have com to and gone from Dadun Primary School. Only Wang Wenzhou and Wang Shengchao keep on teaching at Dadun Primary School. Villagers there all say, “It’s really not easy for them to do so.”
When young people break the law, they are put into a special kind of jail. It can be very dangerous in these jails. Sometimes the young people hurt each other when they are there. Some of the young people even kill themselves. Most of the young people in jail will break the law again when they are let go. There are many young people in jail, so we need to decide how to help them.
A group of people think that there is a better way to help the young people in jail. They want to put small groups of them in some special jails. These jails arm or like homes. They think that this will help the young people learn and stay safe. When the young people are in these special homes, they can get help. Counselors can talk to them about crime and try to teach them that it is bad. Hopefully this will help them become better people when they get out.
