1.Joho may come to see us tonight,but isn't very sure yet.因为他还不确定是否能来,所以选择may,翻译为“或许”.can,这里就是能的意思,表示肯定,如果选择can,就表示他能来,与后面的not sure就矛盾了.has to do 表示“不得不做,并非主观意志“,must,表示”必须,一定要“,其语气比have to 更强烈.
2They are able to do well in the exam.这里,be able to do,表示有能力做某事,主语是they,所以系动词be要改为are.前面不需再加can.be able to 与can的区别就是,前者强调的是有能力做某事,而can只表示能做.
.3.May I take this book out?No,you can't.can‘t就表示不能,不可以.may not 翻译为”可以不“,needn't翻译为“不需要”,aren't 翻译为“不是”
4You must go and see a doctor at once because you 're got a fever.这里选择must,表示“一定要”,语气特别强烈,因为你发烧了,所以必须要去看医生.can,翻译为“可以”,语气没有must强烈.dare是“敢”的意思,不符合语境.would也翻译为“可以,可能”其语气比can还要弱.
5.Can you speak Japanese?No,I can't.你会讲日语吗?不,mustn't表示“一定不要做某事“.needn't 表示”我不需要讲日语“.may not表示”我可能不会讲日语“.根据语境,can’t是标准答语.
