The Spring Festival is the most important festival for the Chinese people and is a day when Chinese people get together for sharing happiness.
The Spring Festival falls on the 1st day of the 1st lunar month,often one month later than the Gregorian calendar.Every year,my family go to my hometown to get together with my grandpa.At Spring Festival Eve,all the family members eat dinner together.The meal is more luxurious than usual.After the dinner,the whole family will sit together,chatting and watching TV.In the past,we often just watch the Spring Festival party broadcasted on China Central Television Station (CCTV).But nowadays ,less and less people watch it but play cards or mahjong.I think more and more people will enjoy to see the New Year in together on the internet in the future.
There are many costoms accompany the Spring Festival.Some are still followed today,but others have weakened.
Before the New Year comes,we completely clean the indoors and outdoors as well as our clothes,bedclothes and all our utensils.
Burning fireworks was once the most typical custom on the Spring Festival.People thought the spluttering sound could help drive away evil spirits.However,such an activity was completely or partially forbidden in big cities once the government took security,noise and pollution factors into consideration.But it is unfreezed in nanjing.So we burn fireworks often.I don't like to play it very much for I think it is too noisy and unnecessary.
I love spring festival because it is a chance to get together with my relatives.I wish it won’t be lost by Chinese.

春节从农历一月一号开始.通常,农历比阳历晚一个月左右.每年,我家都会回我的故乡与我的祖父共度春节.在除夕之夜,所有家庭成员聚再一起吃晚餐.这顿晚餐要比平时丰盛许多.晚餐后,全家围坐在一起,看电视,聊天.以前,我们都收看在中央电视台播放的春节联欢晚会.但是现今,越来越少的人看晚会了,玩扑克和打麻将取而代之.我认为越来越多的人今后会相会在因特网上迎接新年.
春节有很多习俗.一些被保留了下来,但是很多都逐渐被人们淡忘了.
春节前,我们会彻底地打扫室内室外,清洗衣裳、床单和其他器具.
放烟花爆竹曾经是春节期间最典型的风俗.人们认为爆炸声可以驱走恶魔.然而,政府在考虑了到安全、噪声和污染等因素后,这样的活动在大城市就被完全地或部分地禁止了.但是南京没有禁止,因此我们经常燃放烟花爆竹.我不喜欢放鞭炮.我认为这样太喧闹,也没有必要.
