根据该协定的规定,新西兰向东盟国家（the Association of South-East Asian Nations,ASEAN ）出口的商品,到2020年时将可以免除99%的关税.东盟国家,已经是新西兰的笫三大重要的市场；仅在2008年里,新西兰向东盟国家出口的商品价值,总计已经达到了46亿新西兰元.
