I am seventy years old. As I look back on my life, there are some things I have learned that I want to tell the young people.
Always be honest with others, but most importantly, with yourself. Well, this doesn't mean you must always tell the truth to everyone all the time. Don't use the truth to hurt someone. When someone asks, “Do you like my new jacket?” he or she does't want to hear that maybe you think it's terrible. They are just trying to show off a little. It's OK to say you like it if make them happy. But for the really important things in life, you should always try to be as honest as you can.
Hold on to your friends, You'll have some friends for a lifetime, and others will just seem to enter your life and passers-by. But each of them is a treasure for you. There will be moments in your life when you need them, and good friends will do many things for you. When your friends need you, be there for them, help them and get them back on their feet again.
Never make a promise unless you are sure you can keep it, and then try your best to keep it. A man is often judged by how he keeps his word.
Life is funny! Never be afraid to laugh about it. You're going to make mistakes and look silly at times, so always be willing to laugh at yourself.
No matter, how had today is, or how terrible yesterday was, tomorrow is a new chance. Put a smile on your face and do what needs to be done.
It's silly, but it works, so it isn't silly. Don't be afraid to try something new or unusual.
