Delegation means entrusting subordinates to accomplish an assignment (¡°Delegation of authority¡±,n.d.).In other words,it is about delegate right tasks to the right person.
In this case,whether I will delegate a task to that subordinate or not,it depends on what the subordinate is capable at.He is incapable of doing a particular task doesn¡¯t mean he¡¯s incompetent in doing every task.I will still delegate a task to him but I have to ensure that the task is suiting his knowledge,align with his willingness,and able to develop his professional knowledge and skill.
To increase the chances of a successful outcome of this delegation,I have to make a good communication with subordinates,be encouraging,and give reward to delegates.These not only to increase the chances of successful outcome but also to avoid pitfalls like the manager is grabbing the glory of delegates¡¯ hard work or the manager is dumping works to them.
