Being a volunteer is great
No.1 Middle School is proud of three students.They are Xiaohong,Xiaoming and Xiaogang.
All of them are voluteers,and they took some voluntary activities.Xiaohong went to a primary school and help the pupils there with reading.Xiaoming went to an animals' hospital to take care of animals.And Xiaogang went to a hospital and sang songs for patients.
They all said that even though doing voluntary work was a little tired,they felt happy and proud,because they think themselves useful to the society by helping others.
Let's all learn from them and be volunteers!

it is a great thing to become a volunteer for the 2008 beijing olympic games.when we study english in the classroom, we don't have many chances to talk in english or have much english conversations. but being a volunteer, we will meet a lot of foreign people and be able to talk to them in english. this is an expereince we will never get to have in classtimes, and that let me improve my english a lot.
when i was doing my job, there will be a lot of people asking for my help, for example, if anyone gets lost or can't find their seats, i will need to guide them to the correct place. talking with foreigners built up my self-confidence as well. at first, i was quite shy and i sometimes lost my vioce becouse i was very nervus; but after i've spoken to more people, i felt more confident and i was able to speak louder and clearer.
us volunteers are very lucky becouse we can watch the olympic games and cheer for the athletes we support. we were able to meet many famouse athletes. it was a pleasure for me to watch all of them competing for the medels and trying their best to win pride for their countries. i was really touched when the national anthems were sung and the athletes kissed their medels with joy and tears.
i feel i'm really lucky, after being the volunteer, i had an oppertunity to develop my knowledge and skills. i can now talk to foreign tourists confidentelly. my listening and pronouciation has also improved. after watching the games i know more about the rules of those games. the most important thing is i saw a lot of athletes with great sportsmenship and that made me love sports even more.
