most of them 的them是他们.句子里面有提到谁?他们是指谁呢?因为句子没提到他们是谁.那样用most of them会很奇怪.句子是几个人在大火里丧生,多数人获救.如果用most of them 的话就是几个人在大火里丧生,他们大多数获救.那样句子会变得很矛盾.那些人又丧生他们又获救会很奇怪.most of them 是指一群句子提到的哥人.most 是指不知到真正数量的人.句子里没提到有多少人或是谁,所以不能用most of them

这是两种不同的用法，都是对的。
就像both
both were good
both of them were good

most of them 也对，但most是缩略，把后面的of them给省略了，两个都对。
