我要说的都是个人意见啊.
首先学习中国文学,需要分析、归纳之类的精细的研究,所以我觉得用study比较好.
其次我觉得第一句话后半部分“so we were learning Chinese literature rather than Chinese language”用现在完成时比较好,因为学习中国文学是从过去一直到现在一直在做的一件事.你用一般过去时的话我会感觉你是在强调曾经学习过文学【但是现在已经不学了】这种感觉.
还有下一句,也是那个道理我觉得用完成时较好：
‘teahouse' by lao she is exactly one of the articles which we've studied.
