第一个空选the 是因为这个search 是为了找这个男孩,是有特指性的只是指找男孩所进行的寻找活动
第二个选/ 是因为这是零冠词 在bed church school table等名词之前带定冠词或不定冠词表示该名词所表示的处所 而带零冠词,则表示该处所的功能,这里 head for bed 指的是去睡觉 而不是去床那里 比如 the boy is old enough for school 表示这个男孩已到入学年龄（出自大学英语系语法课用书《新编英语语法教程》）
