少年,你要首先明白一点,GMAT不是一个知识点类型的考试.倘若GMAT是一个知识点类型的考试,你是否承认如果使用题海战术即可得到高分?
但是由于博弈论中很简单的一个道理：信息分布是不对称的,而且GMAT不存在考试大纲一类的东西,所以这里面的知识点可以视为正无穷大,你试图网罗所有的知识点显然是不现实的.
下面说题目.

一个什么东西,酸雨的一种主要的成分,是一种特别严重的污染物,因为它减弱了系统的一个什么能力,系统需要这种能力去处理其他的污染物.
原题大概是这么个意思.
五个选项一看,显然,especially和specially有点不大好分辨.没关系,看后面的.你应该很容易就发现,AE选项用的是ability,而BCD用的都是capability.我不管他后面跟的是什么结构,从词义,或者句意上讲,ability的含义是able to do,而capability是can do.如果你认真体会的话,I am able to kill you和 I can kill you的句意是完全不同的.be able to do更强调一种“能力”.ability如是.因此,从句意上考虑,这里ability应该比capability更好.所以直接排除BCD.
剩下A和E,除去specially一处区别,仅剩because和because of不同了,那么就比较这里.还是从句意入手.从整体上看,这句话很明显的,是来解释为何SD是一种很猥琐的污染物.因此如果E是正确选项,句意的重心将会落在前半句上,因为because of后面是一个名词短语；而A则不同,句子的重心刚好在because的后半句上.根据句子得原意,选A.
我想说的是,通过长时间练习运用这种方式解题,即根据句意解题,基本不需要去在意什么语法点的问题,而且正确率会比根据语法点做题高很多.如2楼所说,“gmat不太喜欢because of doing的结构（并非一见到就错）”,其实并不是gmat喜欢与否,而是GMAT的出题原则就是选择5个选项中最好的那一个.而不是去选择对错.很简单的一个商战道理,世界上没有完全的对错的选择,只有相对较好的选择.
试问前人总结出的having必错等等原则,现在实战还有人敢用么?
