Long-long ago and far-far away, there was a farm, it was under of a moutain. One day, a handsome young man visited the farm and wanted to see the famer（农场主）, he gave the famer something. ­
"AH, let me have a look what you bring us this time!" Said the famer. When he open the box, he saw something black and withered（干枯的） witch like someone's hand! "What's this ?!" "This is a claw（爪子）of a monkey, but it is not common, Mr.Danmo." Answered the young man, "You can take it and have three wishes（愿望）. " " So, It's magical ?" Said Mr.Danmo by suprised. " Yes, but it is also dangrous. It was be evel（诅咒）. So, when you use it, Please be CAREFUL !" "No, why don't you use it by yourself ? What do you mean bring it me ?" "Don't worry, Mr.Danmo , it's can't be hurt you without use it. Just pick it away." ­
After the youngman leaved ,Mr & Mrs.Danmo told about the Monkey claw. They think it's unbelivable（不可信的） but moreover（同时也是...）, it's not a good idear to use it. So, the Monkey claw was sleeped with lot of the paper. ­
The next morning, Mr & Mrs.Danmo were having breakfast with there son, Jack. They coulden't forget the youngman and the Monkey claw. It's so charmly（诱人的）. "Why don't you try to use it ?" Said Jack "You know that is not ture, I can promiss you（向你保证）,your friend was deceived（欺骗） you yesterday! " "I think Jack is right, you can try it !" So, Mr.Danmo found the claw and hold it up with the shaky（颤抖的）hand :"Give Me Three hundred Pounds, please !" ­
They waited quitly and hoped something will be happen, but there was anything happend. "Look, it's dummy（假的）!" Said Mr.Dannmo with a sigh（叹气）. Jack noded（点了点头） and went to work——he worked in a factory near the town. Mr & Mrs Danmo began their live in a new day, it's seems nothing happend in the morning. ­
The sun always walks so fast, it was will be the supper time , but Jack was not comeback. Mr & Mrs.Danmo were so worry about their son. while Mr.Danmo weared his cloth and got ready to find his son, someone knocked（敲响） on his door. He open the door and saw two youngmen stood outside. ­
"Excuse me ? Are you Mr.Danmo?" "Yes, I am. But—?" "I'm the worker of the factory near here ,we are workmate with your son, Jack." "I'm sorry but I must to tell you that..." Said another man sadly（悲伤的）, "That your son was be dead." ­
The young men diden't remember that how long time they took try to made Mr & Mrs. Danmo accept（接受） the reality（现实） that their son became a deadbody（尸体） in the afternoon, there was a big hook（铁钩）droped on Jack's head and he was dead in time. And then ,the factory gave Mr.Danmo three hundred Pounds make up for（作为…的补偿）their son ! They received THREE HUNDRED POUNDS ! ­
Mr. & Mrs.Danmo can't be belive that their son never can be have supper with them. Certain ,they had to think about that Monkey claw and his warning（警告）, it's made them afraid, so, they decided（决定） put that claw away and never use it. But it's all late, they can't find anyone to save their son. ­
Mr. & Mrs.Danmo interd（埋葬） their son in a cemetery（公墓） and they lived like this for a long time, they can't find themself from the grieved（悲痛）. At long last, Mrs.Danmo couldn't endure（忍受） the grieve:"Where is that claw?" She asked Mr.Danmo in a thundly（打雷的） evening. "What are you going to do?" Mr.Danmo asked with nervous. "No question, just find it out! " Answered Mrs.Danmo . At last , they find the claw in a box witch is in the basement（地下室）, when they opend the box ,the fear（恐惧）fulled of their mind. But Mrs.Danmo still holded the claw and shouted:"Make My Son, Jack Come Back! " ­
As she shouted, the wind comed into the room from the window and extinguished（熄灭） the candle, be suprised, they heard the slowly footstep（缓慢的脚步声）, clear and clear...at last ,they heard some body knocked the door ! "Our son is come back !" Mrs.Danmo was so excited and ran out to open the door for her son . As the time, Mr.Danmo was thinked of something（想到了什么）, and began to find the Monkey claw in the dark. He is so afraid that Mrs.Danmo open the door for that man (or that thing?) . Fortunate（幸运的是）, Mrs.Danmo is so shortly that she coulden't open the bolt（门闩）, so ,she carried a chair and staied on it .At last, she opend the door, but there was anything out of the door except for （除了）the rain and the wind. ­

这个故事是我根据以前听过的一个国外的传说（往往都是些很不靠谱的东西）改编的,并且在内容上丰富了一下,对于五年级的水平可能高了一些,所以将某些不易理解的词句标注上了中文,很容易理解,只要学过两句E文的就都能看懂.故事的整体风格有些神奇也有些恐怖,不过读完之后你会发现貌似确实有什么东西值得思考一下.­
