Some people say that children raised in families headed by single parents are definitely not happy and lucky.Other people believe that being in families headed by single parents is not always a negative experience.Which idea do you agree with?Give reasons for your choice.
With the rapid development of the society,the definition of “family” has changed a lot.That is to say,there are more types of families than ever before:the nuclear family,the Dink family,etc.among them,families headed by single parents play a very important part.Some people say that in such family,children are not happy and will not get positive influence from parents.Others think that being raised in the families headed by single parents is not always a negative experience.I agree to the latter one.
Firstly,separation or divorce from a situation that was confliction and stressful can be a relief to either the parents or children or to them both.Women who once were dependent may,through separation or divorce,gain self-esteem from their new-found ability to manage the demands of job,housework,and parenting.A woman,for instance,who gets divorced,may have to learn to cope with all have to be done in the house and with educating the kids with much more freedom.And for the children,who live with a single parent,they no longer have to endure the once pains and depression seeing their parents fight over family issues.These are less tension and stress in the family,and the children can get more freedom and love from the single parent than before,which tends to be much more beneficial to the development of their characterization.
What’s more,in the single-parent family,by realizing how difficult it is to keep the whole household,especially in the female-headed households,the children may become more helpful in the house and develop more affection for the parent they are living with.So it is no doubt that a one-parent family can present a positive climate for the raising of children and the relationship between parents and children.
Given all these points above,I would agree with the idea that being raised in the single-parent families is not always a negative experience for children.
