A Noiseless Patient Spider a poem
A noiseless patient spider,
I marked where on a promontory it stood isolated,
Marked how to explore the vacant vast surrounding,
It launched forth filament, filament, filament, out of itself,
Ever unreeling them, ever tirelessly speeding them.
And you O my soul where you stand,
Surrounded, detached, in measureless oceans of space,
Ceaselessly musing, venturing, throwing, seeking the spheres to connect them,
Till the bridge you will need be formed, till the ductile anchor hold,
Till the gossamer thread you fling catch somewhere, O my soul.

A NOISELESS, patient spider,
I mark’d, where, on a little promontory, it stood, isolated;
Mark’d how, to explore the vacant, vast surrounding,
It launch’d forth filament, filament, filament, out of itself;
Ever unreeling them—ever tirelessly speeding them.

A reticent but patient spider
A reticent but patient spider,
I notice it being stood on small and small sea cape in isolation.
Notice that it is boundless and indistinct and hollow how it surveyed around,
It has shot silks, the silk, the silk is small from itself,
Burst forth silks from the yarn constantly, accelerate the speed tirelessly.
And you - -My soul , where is your station,
Besieged and is isolated in the ocean of the limitless space,
Place to ponder , explore , throw , seek to be able to be linked ceaselessly,
Bridge where you need until erecting, until making the anchor which makes your toughness,
Until the balance spring which you got out has caught some place , my soul !
