Friend is somebody who we can count on; similarly,friendship is the motivation that keeps you going.A belief believed that as we would loss old friends,it was not a good thing to move to a new city or go aboard.However,I would say this does not sound very convincing because nothing can be an insurmountable hurdle between friendships which is based on sincerity and trustworthy.The following reason will be upon:
To begin with,there are numerous cutting-edge techniques,such as,msn,e-mail and automobiles,to communicate with old friends since us being into age of information explosion.With all these advancements,even the distance between two chums being a thousand miles,they can talk with each other any time that we want.Take my experience for instance,since my friends and I went to various places and cities for university and college,we could not always see each other.Only in each summer vacation could we hang out with each other.However,when I missed my friends,I always called or used the Internet to communicate with my friends.Thanks to the Internet,we were blessed with chat,even video chat.Therefore,with the cutting-edge technology,it is unnecessary that because of the loss of old friends we are afraid of going to a new city.
Apart from the cutting-edge vehicles to communication,the time-consumption of a trip between two cities is much less than it used to be since an assortment of transportations had been invented,which enable friends to meet each other much more easily.For example,it takes only two hours from Beijing to Shanghai by air,while it took about thirty hours by train forty years ago.Thus,with development of technology,it is much more convenient.
More than anything,more insight plays an essential role in friendship.In fact,friendship refers not merely to physical relationship.Expect for friends talk,play and travel together,people care more about spiritual communication.For instance,during a friend-choosing process,people are inclined to consider more about intrinsic personality traits,such as trustworthy.In other words,to have a friend to share your joy and sorrow together you must choose someone who are compatible with you in personality and whom you could speak,you could mind to.Moving to a new city could reduce people’s physical,not the spiritual interaction which is not limited by space and time.Hence the friendship is based on spirit,not the physical interaction.
Based on all the arguments,I believe wherever two friend be,the distance can never be a insuperable hurdle between friendship given.

In the modern society, we have more and more choices to determine where to live or study. We appear to be likely to continue our study abroad or far from the hometown. This decision not only affects our family members but also the close friends. Some people hate to move homes because they feel terrible to lose old friends. Different people hold different opinions due to their diverse culture and distinct backgrounds. For me, moving to a new different environment is not a bad thing.
Admittedly, starting a new life in a different place diminishes the chances of meeting old friends, to some extent. We are unwilling to say goodbye to the familiar surrounding since they are full of valuable memories. Without face-to-face communication, friendship tends to fade, and we are impossible to share the feeling with them at the first time. However, I always believe that true relationship will not change no matter how far the distance is.
With the fast development of technology, it is much easier to get connection with friends. We can talk on telephone or though the internet; that is to say, considering the convenience brought by the internet, we can get touch with each other by QQ, MSN or blog. I may draw a sound example here. My friend Jessica, who I got to know for almost 10 years, starts to work in Japan this year. We often chat on the Internet about the difficulties we confronted with. Also, we both have blogs and leave messages on each other’s pages. Instead of losing a relationship, we get much closer.
On the other hand, there are more things for us to explore in an unfamiliar city. People could meet new friends in a new environment to develop a new relationship. Besides, there is always a good chance to learn about different cultures, which will broaden the horizon, rich our mind and offer us opportunities and challenges. Personally, the experience of learning a new dialect is amazing.
Judging from all the factors discussed above, we see that moving to a new country is an amazing experience, but not an end of friendship. The new atmosphere probably provides people more chances to meet new friends and learn about diverse cultures; at the same time, they can keep contact with old friends through the Internet and telephone.
