Abstract:
The topic is covered in an effort to compare the similarities and differences on writing styles between ancient official documents and its modern counterpart, and to provide enlightenment for modern official documents writing. The article first analyzes concepts of ancient official documents, and from perspectives of its character origin and social structure, explores the origin, categories and evolvement of ancient official documents. Furthermore, an in-depth analysis of ancient documents writing patterns is given and quite some popular examples of ancient documents are listed, and several groups of writing styles are also analyzed, such as critical and complimentary writing, astonishing-headline writing and circuitous writing, simple and complex writing, narrative writing or argumentative writing, sequential writing and indirect writing, and finally points out its reference significance to Modern official document writing practice.
