Abstract Objective To understand the current level of food security knowledge,attitude and behavior (KAP) and its influencing factors among urban residents living in Xinxiang city,and to provide scientific basis for the development of appropriate food safety education program and effective food safety education Method Four residential districts of Xinxiang City residents was randomly selected by cluster sampling of for the survey,the households face to face interviews and survey questionnaires.Results 93.3% of residents believe that it is necessary to regularly carry out food safety education,and 92.3% of the residents are willing to accept more food safety knowledge.However,72.1% of residents do not know what pollution-free food is,of whom are known to "Food Safety Law" only is 19.9%,78.5% of the population or even do not know when the food safety law was enacted.In addition,urban residents’ behavior of food safety still have many problems,such as at roadside stalls to buy food (9.3%),do not pay attention when buying food shelf life of food (21.5%),purchasing production that there is no clear date and shelf life (33.2%).Age,level of education and knowledge about food safety (P
