第一句.there is a great deal of dispute有点awkward.改成a large scale of dispute会比较妥一些.研究机构应该是research institutes.

第四句.going shopping应该改成on shopping.后边应该是impression they make on other很奇怪而且意思也反了.应该改成how others may judge them by look. 在后边time前面应该加enough（不然没表达出足够的意思）；to their应该改成onto their会比较好.
第五句.后面半句听awkward我帮你都改了.is that the speed of increase in vehicle numbers far overweighs the speed of construction of roads.
