With the rapid increase of private cars, the quality of air condition is decreasing day by day. Running on the city roads are cars which produce large amount of poisonous fumes, black smoke and unbearable traffic jams. A heated discussion has been aroused about whether the private car owners be taxed. I believe the owners should be taxed for the pollution their cars produce.
You may ask why we should tax private car owners? The reasons are obvious as I am concerned. Actually, in China, traffic jams are becoming more and more severe during these years. Several cosmopolises, especially Shanghai, are suffering from disastrous traffic jams which lead to road ranges and other social problems. Furthermore,
As John convert, a professor in Harvard University, and his teams studies show that 76% of launch cancer, 82%of heart diseases are related to air pollution including carbon dioxide and other poisonous fumes which are closely related with private cars. Last but never the least, the growing number of private cars refers to increasing energy consumption and mounting emission of the carbon dioxide, which contributes to the deterioration of the whole ecosystem, such as climate change, acid rain and greenhouse effect. As a consequence, the existence of human beings will be threatened as well as other creatures.
Due to the negative effects of the soaring number of private cars, as far as I am concerned, it is high time for governments to tax private car to limit them. Only if we control the number, can we enjoy far more harmonious environment and fresher air.
