主语当然是 "the brake",后面的“of "表所属关系,相当于 the bicycle's brake .因为表示的是物与物的所属关系,所以用of连接.
下面分析问题句:
The bicycle the brake of which was damaged has now been repaired.
此句两个名词连接一起,咋一看可能会觉得别扭.
the+名词+of which
= of which +the+名词
= whose + 名词 (注：whose表所属关系时即可指人又可指物）
同等变形式如下：
1)The bicycle was damaged has now been repaired.
2)The bicycle was damaged has now been repaired.
3)The bicycle was damaged has now been repaired.
其中 The bicycle has now been repaired 是句子主句,中间部分是定语从句.全句译：车闸坏掉的自行车现已被修好了.
以上三种形式表达的意思是一样的.(2)(3)形式看起了是不是更加一目了然哈.
