I know a lot of people that prefer to play video games over reading.Personally,I love to read.You might be wondering why.If you are,it probably means that you do not realize the advantages to reading.
First of all,reading helps to gain knowledge.From all the different types of books you read,you will definetely learn a lot,which is also why they make you smarter.Believe me,even fiction books can teach you knowledge,so don't let that be your excuse for not reading.
Also,reading opens up your mind.Books gives your imagination space to imagine the situation the author described in your way.This is alos why books are better than movies in my opinion.
Books make me happy.Whenever I feel stressful or frustrated,I sit down and read.It helps me to forget all the problems that are bothering me.
Last but not least,books have helped me to grow as a person.Ever since I learned the alphabet,books accompanied me everywhere I go.That is surely going to continue in the future and you should follow my example!

There are many advantages by reading good books. Firstly, reading books can let us gain more useful knowledges. We can open our minds to accept more new things and see how other people see same thing from different directions. Secondly, reading good books can let us getting smarter（不要用clever因为在英语里这个词有贬义的味道）. By knowing different things we can mentally grow up and see the world with a more mature view. Finally, reading books can make us happy. it's one of the best relax activities in the world. The people love reading never feel boring as they always have new things to learn. Therefore, sumary all the advantages of reading i'd like to strongly suggest all students do reading as much as you can.
