虚字结构,指的是英文语法中经常用It is,There is/are等开头的句子,it 或 there 本身无任何意思,不过英文语法的要求它们要在.在写作中,虚字结构经常被视为啰嗦.
比如：
（There are） ten people in my class.我班上（那里）有十个人.
（It is obvious） you're wrong.你错了,（它/这）很明显.
这些都是虚字结构,可以改成：
Ten people are in my class.我班上有十个人.
You're obviously wrong.你很明显错了.
这样就精简了.
不过,还是有些虚字结构是不能改的：
It is raining.在下雨.
这句话不能精简了,英文要求一句话一定要有主语,所以用it.
