In this figure,we can see that the distribution of Θ𝑗 has
a linear relationship with the cyclic phase.Therefore,in the
sequential detection,it is possible that the detector estimates
the cyclic phase in each step of sequential detection,if it takes
Θ𝑗 as well as 𝑉𝑗 as the observation.If the detector has some
knowledge about the cyclic phase,it can better distinguish the
SOI-present hypothesis from the noise-only hypothesis,and
therefore,the detection performance can be improved.This
is the way to achieve a sufficient performance gain,which
is expected with sequential detection.Therefore,we propose
the MH-SSCD,which estimates not only the SOI presence but
also the cyclic phase by taking the vector observation (𝑉𝑗 ,Θ𝑗).
It is noted that the SOI presence and the cyclic phase is jointly
estimated in each sequential detection step.It is noted also that
the final goal of MH-SSCD is still deciding the SOI presence,
and the estimation of cyclic phase just assists it.
