Daming Lake is natural lake in the heart of a bustling city,with Baotu spring,Thousand Buddha hill are claimed 3 scenic spots of Jinan.With a constant water source that feed into the lake such as Pear Spring,Zhuoying Spring,Wangfu Chi Spring,Daming Lake is thus aptly called "the conflux of numerous springs".Daming Lake has an average depth of two meters,whit the deepest parts up to four meters.One of the lake's most distinctive features,is its constant water level,never come flood or come drought.Daming Lake boasts a variety of architectural specialties:archway,attic,gardens,multi-storeyed houses,four shrines,six islands,seven bridges and ten pavilions.All of the buildings are arranged pleasingly and in harmony with the surroundings.
Also called Jianquan Spring,the waters of Baotu Spring gush forth with a thunderous roar from three holes in the underlying bedrock."When the springhead gushes up",wrote geographer Li Daoyuan during the Northern Wei (CE 386-533) Dynasty,"the water rolls like a wheel".The waters of Baotu Spring preserve a year-round temperature of 18 degrees celsius (65 degrees Fahrenheit),with the result that a cloud of mist often curls up over the spring on winter days,its uppermost extremity constantly sliding upwards into oblivion as fresh mist forms below.
Thousand-Buddha Hill,is located about two and a half kilometers southeast of the city with a height of 281 meters.It is also known as the "number one hill of Jinan." Thousand Buddha Hill,overgrown with grass and flowers as well as age-old pine and cypress,is like a giant wearing a huge green carpet dotted with pavilions,towers and terraces.Although it is not of impressive height,the convenient location and picturesque scenery of this spot,attracts thousands of tourists each year.
