This one is really evil and takes alot of technical know-how to pull it off,but when I was a young'n interning at a dot com startup some of my co-workers played this joke on me (this joke works especially well on those who surf the web.a lot):
1) Set up a webserver inside the company (you can use your desktop and download apache or something like that) and set it up so all page requests display "the message"."The message" should contain something about the user violating network policies and imply that they are fired.For extra hillarity,put the network admin's number on the page and pay him off in mountain dew to go along with the prank.
2) Get onto unsuspecting victim's computer and change his default routing so that all web traffic goes through your webserver.
3) End result:User tries to surf the web,finds out they "violated network policy" and network admin tells them they are fired.
I dunno...it was funny when it happened to me :D

So what kind of pranks do poeple play on April Fool's Day?Well,there are lots of simple tricks that you can play on your friends.For example,I changed the time on my husband's alarm clock so that he was late for work this morning.And,I glue a coin to the floor and I enjoyed to see how many people try to pick it up all the forenoon.
All these are small-scale practical jokes which you might play on one other person or a few people.
In fact,I would like to be fool as long as it's happy!Life is a long and circuit road,you need to find something to cheer up by yourself.Any way,happiness do not come without invitation.
