Actually,this festival is strongly associated with the legend of Chang’e,the Moon Goddess of Immortality.She accidentally swallowed panacea of his husband,Houyi,and flied out of the window into the sky,and never came back to the Earth since.Her husband missed her so much and made lots of cakes for her.Therefore,nowadays,people worship Chang’e on this festival with such sacrifice as mooncakes and all kinds of fruits.What a romantic festival!

The Mid-Autumn festival is celebrated by the chinese to remember the great Chinese patriot, QuYuan. The festival falls on the Chinese calendar on the fifteen of the eighth month. On that day, we eat moon cakes, drink tea and enjoy the full moon. This is also a family reunion day. My father and elder brother would make sure they come back for the reunion dinner. After dinner, we, as a family would proceed to the city park to watch the lanterns on display. Little children are also busy playing with their candled lighted lanterns.
