CFR Lagos, Nigeria
where Lagos is the port of destination in which the importer takes physical control of the goods. This port is usually located in the importing country or in a neighboring country
In a Cost and Freight transaction, the delivery (the transferor responsibility or the transfer of risk) does not take place
in the port of destination, but in the port of departure. The CFR term is also one of the oldest maritime terms of trade, and it was known until the 1990 Incoterms as C&F or C+F, abbreviations which are now obsolete. The
exporter is responsible for the goods until they are placed on the ship, and the importer is responsible for them after that, but the exporter pre-pays the ocean freight.
