Multiculturalism Is Better for U.S. Society
As a country which has absorbed a diverse group of immigrated people, multiculturalism will be a wise choice for U.S. society nowadays. U.S. society has successfully combined more than one hundred races of immigrants since hundreds years ago. This is the way that U.S. society has already done, is doing, and will do in the future. Because of the mixture of different cultures, customs and habits, it is benefit to American society to encourage immigrants to maintain their uniqueness. It is not only for preventing cultural outflows but also for contributing to U.S. society. In other words, immigrants play two roles in the multiculturalism. One is themselves and the other one is like a kind of “flavor”, such as a tomato in the salad bowl which makes the salad much more delicious with a special taste . Furthermore, multiculturalism reflects the respect and fairness to people of different ethnic. Immigrants will not be forced to accept the local culture if they want to own the citizenship, it means they can do their own way like in their hometowns. In addition, the diversity in different races and religions brings some new things into the local society, as a kind of import without taxes. They are also a new group of workforces to the US social market. The local American citizens even don’t need to go abroad that they can learn new knowledge, techniques and civilizations from these immigrants easily; likewise, it indicates immigrants are welcome and acceptable in the United States what makes them feel much better when they are in a new environment. All these above suggest that multiculturalism is better for U.S. society, the only thing that Americans should do is to give their receptions.

How time flies! It has been two years since I came to XXX College. In the two years, many things have happened. I also meet a lot of friends here.
Two years is not too long for man's life. But the two years I lived on campus has changed me a lot. For example, from the day I was born to the day I went to school, I had never left home alone for a long time and do housework by myself. How to deal with my roommates and classmates? These questions were all difficult for me to work out at that time. Today I get on well with them and do everything in life calmly. But all these changes were not easy for me. Sometimes I feel lonely, angry and also homesick. But fortunately I meet a lot of good friends. They helped me spend these sad days. I find words cannot express my sincere thanks to
them. When they need help, I will do everything I can to help those who helped me before.
I'll have another two years in college,which I will treasure with my friends. Everything in college will be my great memory in my life for ever.
