This site is dedicated to providing tools & services to support development on the Symbian operating system.
It is also the primary means by which Nokia shares source code with partners & collaborators using the Git Version Control System (for more information on using Git see this link)
Note that to access any projects in this system you will be required to log in using your user name & password. If you wish to register please follow this link here
Projects
The organisation of the site is based on projects. A project is a logical group of information containing links to appropriate documentation, source & binary files as well as other tools.
At the top of this page you will see two tabs:
My Projects: this link will take you an information page which will list the projects to which you currently have access. This will also include the basic projects (see below for details).
Explore Projects: This lists the available projects which you may be able to request access to.
Default projects
By default all users have access to default projects. These include (please see the individual projects for full details of the contents):
•Symbian Open Source: This is a superset of the basic Symbian projects listed below. This project links to information & source code for Symbian.
Each sub-project contains a subset of this information based on the individual layer of the system:
•Symbian Application Layer
•Symbian Middleware Layer
•Symbian Operating System Layer
•Symbian Adaptation Layer
•Symbian OS Tools (coming soon)
Project tools
Each project contains links to a set of tools for working with a project. These can be accessed via the tabbed links at the top of each project page.
Summary: This is the front page of the project. It provides a description, basic information about the project.
Wiki: This section contains links to documentation & other information about the project.
Timeline: This lists the activity on the project including all recent submits to the source repositories.
Source: This section contains a direct link to the source files for the project. This is browsable online or may be cloned onto the user’s own machine using Git (for information on this please see the Git help page).
Files: This section contains binary downloads that may be available for the project.
Search: This enables a user to search within the project
Discussion: The discussion section allows users to post messages related to the project. Please be aware that messages posted here will be open & available to all users of the project they are posted to and may be moderated.
