wish和hope的用法区别
1)wish意为“但愿、希望、渴望、想要”,一般表示难以实现的愿望,特别是作“但愿”讲时.wish后可跟从句,从句一般用过去时,表示现在或将来;还可跟不定式,复合宾语以及双宾语.例如:
①I wish I could fly to the moon one day. 但愿我有一天能飞到月球上去.(客观上看来没有什么可能性)
②I wish I was rich. 但愿我能发财.
③He wishes me to go there. 他希望我去那里.
④I wish you a happy New Year! 祝你新年快乐!
⑤All the students wished their teachers good luck in the next year. 所有的学生祝老师们来年幸运.
2)hope意为“希望、盼望”,它表示的愿望一般都可能实现,比较现实.hope后可跟不定式作宾语,也可跟宾语语从句,从句用直接陈述语气.例如:
①I hope(that) it will be fine tomorrow.
我希望明天天气好.(客观上有可能)
②She hopes to visit the Great Wall.
她希望去参观长城.
③He hopes(that)he can go with us.
他希望能和我们一起去.
[注意]hope不能用于hope sb. to do 这种句型.
2.But I am afraid to lose her. 我害怕失去她.
(1)1).be afraid to do 不敢做某事.
2).be afraid of sth 害怕……
3).be afraid that …… 恐怕
4).be afraid of/ doing 害怕……
a、I’m afraid to drive into the swimming pool.
我不敢在游泳池跳水.
b、I’m afraid to stay alone.
我不敢一个人呆在家里.
c、He is afraid of dogs.
他害怕狗.
d、I’m afraid that I’ll be late.
我恐怕要迟到.
e、I’m afraid he won’t come this afternoon.
我恐怕他今天下午不会来了.
3.I wish to be as handsome as he is. 我希望能和他一样英俊.
as……as和……一样.
He is as tall as me. 他和我一样高.
He runs as fast as Jim. 他和Jim跑的一样快.
4.But I don’t feel sorry for myself. 但我并不为自己而感到难过.
feel sorry for ……对……感到遗憾(抱歉).
I missed this chance, but I didn’t feel sorry for it.
我错过了这件机会,但是我并不感到难过.
Don’t feel sorry for that thing. We have done it already. 不要为那件事遗憾了,我们已经做过了.
5 I hope to make friends with everyone.
我希望和每个人交朋友.
make friends with sb. 与……交朋友.
We should make friends with our classmates.
我们应当和同班同学交朋友.
Part Ⅱ Reading and writing
1.When I do speak, I feel like a fool because I think people are looking at me strangely. 当我在说话时,我感觉我是个呆子,因为我认为有人在奇怪的看着我.
feel like 和 want to, would like to 表示的意义接近,表示“想要”,feel like后接动词-ing形式,而want, would like接不定式.
1)He felt like going out for a walk.
=He’d like to go out for a walk.
=He wanted to go out for a walk.
他想出门散散步.
2)I feel like taking a good rest.
=I’d like to take a good rest.
=I want to take a good rest.
我想好好休息一下.
2.You are quite different from me. 你和我一点都不一样.
be different from 与……不同
The weather here is different from that in Shanghai.
这儿的天气和上海天气不同.
He is quite different from the other students.
他和其他的同学一点不一样.
3.I really admire you because of our differences. 因为我们的不同之处,我真的很钦佩你.
because of“因为,由于”,后面通常接短语.
because 也是“因为”后面通常接从句.
①I had to stay at home because of the bad weather.
=I had to stay at home because the weather was bad.
②I got an “A” in this text because of studying hard.
=I got an “A” in this text because I studied hard.
4.I speak and think at the same time and it sometimes doesn’t make sense.
我说话和思考同时进行,有时说出的话就没什么意义.
①make sense. 指“有意义”通常用于否定句.
②at the same time. “与此同时”
I passed the finishing line, and at the same time he passed it, too.
我通过了终点线,与此同时他也通过了终点.
5.Instead of worrying too much about being an introvert, celebrate being you.
不要过多担心自己是一个内向的人,而要庆贺独一无二的你.
instead of意思是“代替,而不是”,后面必须要加词构成介词短语.
①If you don’t come here, Jim will go instead of you.
如果你不来,Jim将代替你来.
②Go outside and do some exercises instead of staying at home all day.
不要整天呆在家里,到外面去运动吧.

1.The blue dress is not as beautiful as the green one.

①The white house is not as big as the red one.

2.Several girls in my class seem to be better than I am at everything.

seem的用法
△seem表示“似乎”,后面可接不定式,如不定式是to be加形容词,则to be有时可省去.例如:
①He seems (to be) quite happy. 他似乎很开心.
②This passage seems much more difficult than that one. 这篇短文似乎比那篇要难得多.
③Well, that seems a good idea.
嗯,那似乎是个好主意.
④Stars seem small but in fact they are huge.
星星似乎很小,但实际上非常大.
⑤She seems to enjoy the book.
她似乎很喜欢这本书.
⑥I seem to hear a voice in the dark.
我(觉得)好象听见黑暗处有人声.
【注意】如用于否定句,可否定seem,也可否定不定式.如:
⑦She didn’t seem to enjoy herself at the party.
=She seemed not to enjoy herself at the party.
她似乎在聚会上玩得不愉快.
△上面这种用法一般可改为It seem/seemed that…句型,如:
⑧His temperature seems to be all right.
=It seems that his temperature is all right.
他的体温似乎很正常.
⑨He seemed rather tired last night.
=It seemed that he was rather tired last night.
昨天晚上他好象相当疲劳.
3.I think my classmates look down upon me.
我认为我班学生看不起我.
look down upon 看不起,瞧不起.
Don’t look down upon me, I will win one day.
不要看不起我,将来我会赢的.
