I returned to the XX hotel in Beijing after several years,as prices have dropped to their original introductory level.The service remains excellent - the front desk gave me a nicer room when I didn't like the initial one,the manager volunteered to help with my in-room wifi access when I had trouble,the coffee was promptly delivered by room service in the morning,and there were robes and a reasonable range of TV channels.The corridors are quiet at night and the heat-air-conditioning works and produces white noise to drown out traffic.The restaurant food remains excellent,and in July it was participating in the citywide "value lunch and dinner." At current recessionary prices,this hotel is a fabulous deal.Even at higher prices,this is a good choice for anyone wanting a very nice level of comfort and service in a neighborhood with amenities but also reasonably quiet nights.The only advice is that this hotel,like all midprice Great Wall hotels,has some tiny rooms facing brick walls,to be avoided if possible.
