摘 要
城市环境雕塑简称城市雕塑，是现代城市建设和环境艺术的产物。现代城市雕塑与古代雕塑在功能上有本质的不同，古代雕塑主要服务于宗教，以雕塑为载体宣扬宗教教义，多雕刻于洞窟和寺院之中，没有环境艺术的本质概念。而现代城市雕塑作为公共艺术的重要组成部分，是在物质环境满足人类生存和行为方式等基本需要的同时，给环境注入人类意志、理念、情感和美感的综合性艺术。公共性是现代城市雕塑的显著特征，这就决定了现代城市雕塑在现代生活中所具有的公共环境艺术的本质，也决定了现代城市雕塑在与环境的共生中自身所具有的不同于古代雕塑的审美特征。

Characteristic of the Art of Sculpture
Abstract:
Urban environmental sculpture,also called city sculpture,is the combination of modern city construction and environmental art.Modern city sculptures are very different from ancient sculptures in their functions,ancient sculptures sever for religions,sculptures of ancient times were used as tools to convey and publicize religious doctrines.Most of the ancient sculptures were engraved in caverns or monasteries,they is nothing like environmental art in these sculptures.Modern city sculptures,as a very important part of public art,however,not only satisfied people’s material need of basic environment,but also infuse the material environment with human will,concepts,sentiments,and aesthetic perceptions.Publicness is the distinguishing feature of modern city sculpture,this shows the essence of public environment art in modern city sculptures,and also determines the uniqueness,which is the harmonious aesthetics associated with their surroundings,of modern city sculptures.
