When the news about the terrible earthquake in Japan came, I was absolutely shocked and grieved. It is nasty, to have your home, all that is familiar to you, possibly your family and even your life stripped from you, just in one instant. I can feel the sorrow of the Japanese especially well, since I had friends and family members stuck in the earthquake in Sichuan in 2008. No one deserves that type of torment, therefore we should help them. We can raise funds to relieve the situation, or write letters and emails of encouragement to boost their morale.
This earthquake also cautions us, and alerts us of what we should do if the same thing occurs to us. Generally speaking, when an earthquake strikes, one should remain calm and always follow instructions from the teachers and school leaders. Try to go outdoors into the playground. But if you are trapped indoors, stay under your desk, which can keep your safer.
Let us all pray that humanity's united power can endure any disaster and atrocity.
