In summary,nanocrystalline (1−x/2)TiO2•(x/2)Eu2O3 phosphors have been synthesized by surfactant-aided reverse micelles and solvothermal synthetic method.The crystalline phase obtained from both mixtures and nanocomposites was anatase type of TiO2 and the average particle size,measured by TEM,has been changed as a function of Eu concentration.The nanocomposites were supposed to be the nanostructure of TiO2 shell with locally concentrated Eu2O3 cores and the emissions from 5D0:Eu3+ were found in the sample having Eu2O3 aggregate in TiO2 matrix.The emission band centered at 614 nm due to the transition from 5D0 to 7F2 level was strong.Regardless of the change of excitation wavelength,Eu concentration,and temperature of the nanoparticles,the bandwidth and the wavelength of emission spectra were identical.It is suggested that the Eu3+ ions radiating the luminescence are under the same environment in the TiO2 nanoparticles.
