To Learn English in an English Way:My Experience
Most of us have the same problem in learning a foreign language.But what is the reason?Let's look back how we learned our mother language.Before we learned to speak,we had received a lot of information.Then,we imitated what we had heard.In this way we learned our mother language step by step.People can communicate with each other without difficulty even if they don't receive any kind of education.But for writing ability,we must learn the words and grammar rules so as to make the writing perfect.What I want to explain is that oral language and writing ability is quite different.
Few people have the opportunity to be brought up with two languages.So if you want to improve oral English,you must listen to and imitate the native speaker as much as possible.If you want to improve your English writing,you must read good English articles as much as possible.
I agree with that we "learn English in an English way".Let me give you an example.Every student in China understands the following sentence "Good good study,day day up!" That is a typical "Chingish".We can understand easily.Why?We are too familiar with the Chinese way of thinking.In this online writing class,I don't know how many mistakes I have made in my writing,but I am sure you all can understand me,right?That is the key problem in learning English,I think.We can make the foreigner understand us,but they can figure out that we are foreigners,because they never speak or write in that way.
Learning a language,in my opinion,is difficult.It needs a lot of hard work.There is no shortcut in learning English.By the way,we need the correction and the instruction of our teacher,too.
