简•奥斯汀对《爱玛》主人公的塑造,一直是广大学者研究的问题.这部小说是奥斯汀最成熟的小说.作者对那个时代的上流社会的传统社会价值观提出疑问,认为19世纪初的英国社会需要做出改变.作者将这一切从《爱玛》的主人公人物性格塑造中表现出来.我们通过研究奥斯汀对爱玛以及纳特利性格的塑造来探索奥斯汀对当时英国上层社会的传统价值观持讽刺态度,这一点从爱玛转变前的性格中是可以看出的.纳特利作为爱玛性格转变的关键因素,是一个光明的形象,意味着若是英国上层社会的价值观做出改变,将是另一番信景象.而爱玛的成功转型也证明了这一点.

Abstract
The heros which created by Jane Austen are always studied by lots of schoars.The novel is the most mature of Austen’s.The writer put forward her dout about that society and thought the Egland in early 19 century need change.The writer showed these across Emma hero’s personality characteristics.After we studied Emma’s and Nutley’ characters we fond that Austen satirized England’s upper-class’s traditional sociel values.We obtained this through Emma’s character before changing.Nutley,as the important factor of Emma’s character change,was a bright imagine,meant if the England upper-class did some change,there would have aother scene.And Emma’s successful transition also proved this.

Abstract
The heros created by Jane Austen are always studied by lots of scholars.The novel is the most mature one of Austen's.The writer put forward her doubt about that society and thought that the England in the early 19th century need change.The writer showed these across the personality characteristics of the heroine,Emma.After we studied Emma's and Nutley's characteristics we found that Austen satirized England's upper-class's traditional social values.We obtained this through Emma's character before change.Nutley,as the important factor of Emma's character change,was a bright image,meaning that if the England upper-class had done some change there would have been another scene.And Emma's successful transition also proved this.
