2000多年前,苏格兰和罗马之间爆发了一场战争.由于装备落后,苏格兰人在前期不断的败退.在一场战役过后,指挥官詹姆斯受了很重的伤,于是下令撤退.但是在撤退时,苏格兰人被一条大河给拦住了,无法继续逃跑.这时,罗马人见天色已晚,就把苏格兰人包围住,等到第二天早晨再进攻.
正当苏格兰人十分绝望的时候,突然传来一名士兵的尖叫声,然后大家发现他的脚原来是被蓟草戳穿了.要知道,当时的士兵只有草鞋穿.这个发现让詹姆斯欣喜若狂.他马上命令士兵有皮革裹住自己的脚,等待第二天罗马人的进攻.

2000 years ago,there was a war between Scotland and Rome.Because of bad equiment,the Scotish were defeated at the very begining.After a battle,commander James was badly wounded,so he odered his soldiers to retreat.However,when retreating,they were stopped by a river.As it grew dark,the Romans besieged the Scotish,waiting for reattack in the morning.
A soldier suddenly burst out a scream when the Scotish were desperate.It turned out that his feet were pierced by the thistle.You know,soldiers worn grass shoes at that time.This filled James with joy.He immediately ordered soldiers to wrapped their feet with leather and wait for the Roman's attack.
The next morning,the Romans began their attack.They went forward quickly.But when they stepped into the grass,they were pierced and screaming in a confusion.The Scotish siezed th opportunity and lauched their attack.Finally,they defeated the Romans.
