3. 不能用we planted, 因为我们城市里的花树并不是我们种的对吧.
所以应该是类似这样的：
We were delighted (强调高兴）to find out lots of trees and flowers had been planted in our city last year.
(大概是 我们很高兴的发现了很多树和花都被种在我们城市了）
我觉得这样更恰当,因为原句没有给谁种的
4. Driving will result in/ cause more air pollution, therefore, we should encourage cycling or walking to work and school.
will xxx 就是被冻结构.
一般不说biking.biking大多指运动项目,cycling比较普遍
5. I am against caging animals, because for animals, it is unsuitable to live in cages.
caging 就是放在笼子里的动词,这样比较简练.

前面大家都用的是had never,我觉得不对，因为had是过去完成时，必须要有过去的时间状语或是表示过去的动作作为一个参照时间或是动作我们才能用上过去的过去，也就是过去完成...

前面一句中大家的delight用的蛮好的，可是因为这是初三学生的翻译，我觉得glad可能更适合，这和口语中常说的glad to see you是相通的，后面那句中应用表过去时的were而不应用had been planted，因为后面有个很明显的表示过去的时间状语last year，若是时间改为by last year则可用 had been planted
Driving will cause more air pollutions, so riding or walking to school and work should be encouraged.
这个这样表示应该和初中语法没有太大冲突吧,注意单复数吧
I am against to forcing/keeping animals in cage,because it is inappropriate for animals to live in the cage.
我觉得上面那位朋友用的caging animals挺好的，很地道，我就再提供两种稍微俗气一点的吧，在中国的应试教育中也不会算错
