In this experiment,the dependence of viscosity on shear
rate and the sensitivity of temperature for TPVA melts in
the capillary flow were studied.Moreover,the melt spinning
method was used to test the elongational flow properties of
TPVA.The uniqueness of this method lies in the variety of
the elongation rate in the flow direction (which is an unsteady
elongational flow).The advantage of this method is that the
experimentation and the actual production are quite similar.
The actual production conditions can be closely simulated
and thus,results are more in keeping with information needs
of the manufacturing process.In this study,the shear and
the elongational flow properties of TPVA melts with different
plasticizer contents and degrees of polymerization were
tested and analyzed.Thus,this study offers a better under-standing
of TPVA rheological properties affected by TPVA compositions.
