Following up on the reports you issued based on complaints received from your customer of locomotive workshops,ACKE Electric has set up a series of actions with the scope of:
1.Impose controls during of the different phase of the coil winding to check the exact respect of the coil wire tension and rotation speed of the coil spool.Particular attention has also been enforced during the tin soldering operations and include a control for the correct temperature of the welders.
2.Potentiate the controls of the coil resistance measurement of the coil itself once the coil winding is complete so that it is extended to each single piece made.This is made in addition to the final factory testing on each contactor after complete assembly.
3.Specific personnel training for the handling and storing of these coils in the stock room and giving particular care to stock them in an orderly way to avoid blows or excessive load conditions due to stacking coils in layers in the same bin.The coils will be placed in single layers and each coil well divided from the other to avoid blows during handling and/or transport.
It has also been establish to immediately isolate any coils which may have been drop or receive blows during the handling,in a controlled way for additional controls or reject.
4.Conduct regular audits of the production process of the bridge rectifier/feeder set and given particular attention to the internal switch.
5.Specific training of personnel who assemble the bridge rectifier/feeder set in order that maximum care is given to the cleanliness of the work area to avoid all contamination of internal switch and plastic part where the internal switch contact is mounted.
Closed bins are also being introduced for stocking and handling of the internal switch contacts and plastic parts to exclude eventual dust or dirt contamination.
6.Introduction of a new test of the bridge rectifier/feeder set for internal switch operation conditions before it is assembled with the coil.
9.The contactors and the spare parts will be immediately packaged in their cartons at the end of the final factory tests.
10.The technical office will proceed with a study to evaluate the eventual need to increase
the compression spring tension of the coil internal switch.
11.The number of regular product audits will be increased by Product Quality Control personnel.The audits will include a greater number of controls to have a in-depth product analysis.
12.A modification has been introduced on the faston terminal used with the coil wires (the ones which connect the coil with the bridge rectifier/feeder set to provide better mechanical resistance to the connections.
8.For spare parts,an in-depth test is made and will include:
- increased number of coil-feeder set operations
- repeated testing of the bridge rectifier/feeder set
- in addition of normal test procedure,the coil-feeder set will be installed on contactors to check operating conditions.
