A tuning range of 11.6 nm corresponding to twelve cavity modes has been demonstrated ,and a SMSR higher than 28dB is obtained throughout the range.There are some difference among SMSRs.The SMSR at 1557nm wavelength is largest .And the SMSRs > 1557nm wavelength are large ,contrary to those < 1557nm.The reason is the mode coupling competition.The mode coupling competition is changed because of the FBG feedback making some modes advantage and suppressing other laser modes.When the mode selected by the FBG is strong ,the SMSR is large because of a strong mode coupling competition.As Fig.2 shows ,mode intensities over the wavelength range 1550 nm 1557nm are nearly same .The chosen mode has not very large advantage comparing with it s side modes ,leading to lower SMSRs < 1557nm wavelengths.So we get the result s as shown in Fig.7.
