1 需要加. 这不是动词不定式 的省略问题
2 我认为 是前者 介词短语 修饰 靠近的名词
如果 是后者 第二个 名词前 的定冠词 应去掉 谓语动词 可以 用单数
3 but前面的逗号去掉不去掉 都可以
not only...but (also)...是并列连词,意思是"不但.而且.".
如果 非要说 哪一个是连词 那就是 but
4 single这里是,名词"个人"的意思 加's 是名词所有格
5 根据句子意思 on their own ground是介词短语,修饰the project.做定语.
