The stars of last night and the wind of last night,
Are west of the Painted Chamber and east of Cinnamon Hall.
...Though I have for my body no wings like those of the bright- coloured phoenix,
Yet I feel the harmonious heart-beat of the Sacred Unicorn.
Across the spring-wine, while it warms me, I prompt you how to bet,
Where, group by group, we are throwing dice in the light of a crimson lamp;
Till the rolling of a drum, alas, calls me to my duties,
And I mount my horse and ride away, like a water-plant cut adrift.

无题（七言律诗）

昨夜星辰昨夜风,
画楼西畔桂堂东.
身无彩凤双飞翼,
心有灵犀一点通.
隔座送钩春暖酒,
分曹射覆蜡灯红.
嗟余听鼓应官去,
走马兰台类转蓬.

注释：
【灵犀】：旧说犀牛有神异,角中有白纹如线,直通两头；
【送钩】：也称藏钩,古代腊日的一种游戏,分二组以较胜负.把钩互相传送后,藏于一人手中,令人猜,败组饮酒；
【分曹】：分组；
【射覆】：古代宴会中的另一种游戏,在器皿下覆盖东西令人猜,射为猜之意.藏钩与射覆均是类似今天Party中的猜拳及大话骰类的行酒游戏.以分曹、射覆的描写道出宴会时的热闹；
【鼓】：指更鼓,即报时；
【应官】：当值,即今天的『上班』；
【兰台】：即秘书省,掌管图书秘籍.时李商隐任秘书省正字.

Li Shang-Yin
I wonder why my inlaid harp has fifty strings,
Each with its flower-like fret an interval of youth.
...The sage Chuangzi is day-dreaming, bewitched by butterflies,
The spring-heart of Emperor Wang is crying in a cuckoo.
Mermen weep their pearly tears down a moon-green sea,
Blue fields are breathing their jade to the sun.
And a moment that ought to have lasted forever,
Has come and gone before I knew.

锦瑟（七言律诗）
李商隐
锦瑟无端五十弦,
一弦一柱思华年.
庄生晓梦迷蝴蝶,
望帝春心托杜鹃.
沧海月明珠有泪,
蓝田日暖玉生烟.
此情可待成追忆,
只是当时已惘然.

注释：
【锦瑟】：装饰华美的瑟,瑟为弦乐,每弦一柱,但无『徵』位；
【庄生句】：『庄子』里说,庄周梦蝶,醒后思不知是庄周梦为蝴蝶,还是蝴蝶梦为庄周.意思是浮生若梦变幻莫测；
【望帝句】：古代蜀国君主,名杜宇,传说死后化为杜鹃鸟,悲鸣不止；
【沧海句】：古时有海中鲛人哭时眼泪变成珍珠的传说；
【蓝田句】：陕西省蓝田县,产玉之地.

You said you would come, but you did not, and you left me with no other trace.
Than the moonlight on your tower at the third-watch bell.
I cry for you forever gone, I cannot waken yet...
I try to read your hurried note, I find the ink too pale.
...Blue burns your candle in its kingfisher-feather lantern,
And a sweet breath steals from your hibiscus-broidered curtain.
But far beyond my reach is the Enchanted Mountain,
And you are on the other side, ten thousand peaks away.

无题之一(七言律诗)
李商隐
来是空言去绝踪,
月斜楼上五更钟.
梦为远别啼难唤,
书被催成墨未浓.
蜡照半笼金翡翠,
麝熏微度绣芙蓉.
刘郎已恨蓬山远,
更隔蓬山一万重.
注释：
【五更】：古时五更即寅时,与今相对即凌晨三点左右,因此英文的五更译为"Third-watch",（明珠把一部叫"Third-watch"译为『三更急先锋』）
【金翡翠】：有指绣着金线的棉被,好似太也矜贵；有指诗人出现了幻视,看各位喜好去理解了；
【芙蓉】：指芙蓉帐,不是芙蓉姐姐；
【金翡翠、绣芙蓉句】：这两个词彚透着华丽而不实际、温馨而虚无的感觉,有点意识流.这两句应一起理解,『金翡翠』与『绣芙蓉』均是象征着过去的眷恋,用以反衬现在的落寞与痛苦；
【刘郎句】：指东汉时刘晨与阮肇同入天台山采药,在溪边遇二仙女,资质绝妙,遂成眷属,被留半年.回家后就仙凡两隔,再也难以见面了.
